Nestled within the moist, tropical cloud forests of Columbia and Equador, lies the newest mammal known to humans, the olinguito! Even though scientists have seen them before, they have not been identified as a distinct species until now because they had been confused with a larger related-animal, the olingo. Actually, “olinguito” means “little olingo” in Spanish.
