1) Unless it is stems from irritation due to a physical illness, Gerry says that there is no such thing as an 'itch' (6:46). Gerry explains that an 'everyday itch' is really sudden blood flow to that specific part of the face (6:50). Blood suddenly flows to this certain part of the face because our brains want this part of the face to do some “extra work” and it needs more blood to give it energy (8:03) to do this “extra work”. This “extra work” is related to the topic of conversation, and therefore, the mind.
