Podcast 02 - Body Language Basic Poses
1) Gerry talked about a study where people were shown cartoons and were asked to rate how funny they were (3:09). In the same study, another set of people were asked to hold a pen in their mouth (only the teeth) and then read and rate the same cartoons (3:33). The pen in the mouth forced a “simulated” smile (3:56), and so they rated the cartoons as being funnier (4:14). This study shows that our body position / movement can change and/or affect our mind (4:35).
Note: The study to which Gerry referred was conducted by Dr. Robert Zajonc and colleagues.
